Quality of the question (provoke critical thinking and generate productive discussion): 10 marks

In AB we have Health Link which is the provincial wide telehealth service where callers can be assessed by a nurse over the phone. However, the default at the end is that the nurses almost always must refer the patient to go to the emergency room out of protection for themselves.  My question is, do you see that happening in this instance where the default would have to be recommending that the patient go to the emergency department to protect the nurse on the other end? Or would there be physicians or NPs behind the scenes who would be liable for the decisions in case there is something that the chair doesn’t pick up?

How did you feel it was answered:  10 marks

I think that the question was answered well. The concept was better clarified on how follow up appointments would be made and that there would be real people involved throughout the interaction which helped to fill in some of the information.

Successes: What went well? 10 marks

The idea was innovative, I think it was creative and utilized technology in a lot of different ways. The presentation was visually appealing, and it described the technology well. You thought of so many ways to accommodate people like making it wheelchair accessible and having different language options.

The challenge you chose to focus on is so prominent right now and so it was easy to see how much your innovation would help and how great it would be to reduce the burden in emergency departments and rural areas.

Challenges: What didn’t go so well? 10 marks

I think it would have been beneficial to have incorporated the narration into the presentation as opposed to having the photos at the end. It would have been awesome to get to be brought along the patient journey using the technology. It was described well in your paper and helped me understand the different components better.

Opportunities for Growth: What can be done to improve? (provide clear and feasible suggestions for improvement) 30 marks

I think working on the timing and length of slides would help to make the presentation a little bit more engaging.

If presenting in real time as opposed to pre-recording is possible, I think it would help a lot to keep the audience’s attention. You did great make a pre-recorded presentation engaging which can be hard to do.
